Preventative Dentistry
Routine Cleanings & Examinations
One of our experienced and personable dental hygienists will examine your oral cavity, take any necessary x-rays, and provide a thorough dental cleaning at least twice per year. The hygienist will also provide professional oral hygiene instructions so that you are able to take care of your teeth
properly while at home. The doctor will examine your teeth, gums, and mouth for any issues or concerns that you may not be able to see.
Deep Cleanings and Scalings
Gum disease or periodontal disease is the leading cause of adult tooth loss. It can also lead to other health issues such as diabetes or heart disease. If this condition is diagnosed by one of our doctors, a “deep cleaning,” or scaling and root planing would be needed to clean your teeth below the gumline.
Nightguards & Mouthguards
Nightguards help protect your teeth from tooth grinding or clenching. If you are having pain or soreness in your jaw, especially upon waking, this could be the issue. Mouthguards help protect your teeth during sports and other activities. If you play a sport, we can make you a lab-fabricated custom mouthguard to protect your teeth and smile.
Oral Cancer Screenings
With every examination, the doctor will look in your mouth for any suspicious lumps or bumps that could point to something more serious. The biggest risk factors for oral cancer are alcohol and tobacco use.
Sealants
Sealants are a very thin and small coating that goes into the grooves of developing teeth to help prevent cavities. They are commonly placed on permanent molars in children to help prevent cavities during their developmental years.
